Albert Alsina has more than three decades of international experience in multinational settings where he held several General Management executive positions at global and European levels in the USA, UK, Brazil, Germany, Zimbabwe, Spain and Malta. He has also held Board positions in many African, Asian and South American companies.

In 2013, Albert founded Mediterrania Capital Partners Ltd, which today manages three funds: MC I, MC II and MC III. Nowadays Albert is Chairman of all Mediterrania’s Investment Committees and a Board member of several portfolio companies of the three funds.

Albert is an Associate Professor at the EADA Business School in Barcelona and currently sits on the Board of Anne Fundació, a centre dedicated to providing medical and psychological care for children.

Albert is an AMP graduate from Harvard Business School (USA). He also completed the GLP from
Wharton (USA) and PADE from the IESE Business School (Spain) and holds master’s degrees from
Fulda Fachoschule (Germany) and Université de Poitiers (France) as well as a bachelor’s degree in
business from the University of Barcelona (Spain).

Albert is the author of the book “Value Creation in Private Equity” published in 2020 as well as several white papers and press articles.

Albert is fluent in English, French, German and Portuguese, as well as in Catalan and Spanish.

Saâd Bendidi has extensive experience which spans over four decades across several industry sectors and countries.

Throughout his 35-year professional career in various leading positions, Saâd has acquired an extensive knowledge of the African economic, political and social landscape. Over the years, he has built a strong network of entrepreneurs and key players in the Maghreb region and Sub-Saharan Africa, and has gained solid investment and managerial expertise in highly competitive markets in many CEO, Chairman and senior positions at different levels through relevant exposure to a number of industries, in particular telecoms, banking, insurance and agrobusiness.

Nowadays, Saâd is Chairman, Partner and member of the Investment Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners as well as a board member of several portfolio companies. He is also Chairman of the Board of Forafric Group and holds the position of Non-Executive Chairman of HWM.

Saâd holds an Engineering degree from the École Centrale de Paris (France), a master’s degree from
Sciences-Po Paris, and a degree from HEC Paris.

He speaks English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

With more than 20 years of professional experience, Hatim Ben Ahmed started his career as a financial
auditor for the accounting firm Arthur Andersen in Paris and later joined Accuracy, a corporate finance
advisory firm, where he was exposed to a wide range of financial processes including due diligence
and company valuations, principally for large corporations in various industries (retail, IT services,
waste management, real estate, transportation, etc.). His assignments have led Hatim to work
in most European countries as well as India, the USA, Brazil and Australia. He entered the Private
Equity (PE) practice in 2008 with Mediterrania Capital Partners and today he sits on the board of
several portfolio companies managed by MC I, MC II and MC III. He is also member of the Investment
Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners.

Hatim is a GMP graduate from Harvard Business School (USA). He holds a Master of Science from the ESTP Paris (France) and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance (DESCF).

Hatim speaks English, Spanish, French and Arabic.

Daniel Viñas has three decades of experience in Private Equity asset management and financial services including six years at PwC’s audit and transaction services teams, and 15 years as Director of 3i Group plc. Throughout his professional career, Daniel has accumulated asset management experience after sitting on more than 20 boards from companies in various sectors including general industry, retail, transport and logistics, IT services, chemicals, media, and construction. Through his career, Daniel has played an active role in both growth and expansion strategies as well as in company re-organisations and M&A.

He joined Mediterrania Capital as a Partner in 2014 and currently sits on the board of several portfolio companies managed by MC II and MC III. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners.

Daniel completed a PDG (Programa de Dirección General) from IESE Business School (Spain) and
gained degrees in Economics and Sociology from the University of Barcelona (Spain). He attended the French School of Barcelona.

Daniel speaks Spanish, English, French and Catalan.

Khaled Saba is an Investment Banker with 25 years of international executive experience and a wide network in the industry in Egypt, MENA, South Asia and Europe. His professional experience includes a successful track record in business development and operations of large telecom ventures and in executing high profile capital markets and M&A transactions.

In 1997, Khaled joined EFG-Hermes, one of the leading Investment Banks in the MENA region offering banking services to retail and institutional clients, as Head of Research. Later on, from 2002 to 2008 Khaled led Strategy at Orascom Telecom, then the largest mobile telecommunications player in the region, where he has executed several high profile transactions in Iraq, Bangladesh, Italy, Belgium, Egypt and Congo. During his tenure at Orascom Telecom, Khaled has established and headed the Strategic Commercial Group which had the responsibility to oversee all marketing, sales and customer service activities at Orascom Telecom.

In 2009 Khaled joined Beltone Financial, an Egypt-based financial institution specialised in the provision of investment banking services. Khaled, as Head of Investment Banking, and his team completed a large number of capital markets, debt and M&A transactions in real estate, auto industry, chemicals and others, worth EGP c.20 billion. In 2013 he launched EquiCorp Advisors, a boutique investment bank based in Cairo that holds multiple assignments in healthcare, food industries and others.

Khaled is currently supporting Mediterrania Capital Partners since 2016 for MC III as the Senior Country Advisor for Egypt.

Khaled holds an MBA in International Business and Marketing and a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo (Egypt). He speaks Arabic, English and French.

Until recently Adel Si-Bouekaz was Vice President at Carlyle in charge of the Maghreb Region. He previously managed a boutique consulting firm focused on emerging markets that executed the purchase of Telecom Malagasy on behalf of Distacom Ltd, a Hong Kong based telecom operator, as well as other mandates in North Africa, Eastern Europe and South America.

Before that, Adel worked for JP Morgan London, where he was a member of the UK Resident non-domiciled team, with a focus on international-based clients. The team focused on M&A transactions with family-owned companies across various sectors.

Today, Adel is leading Nomad Capital efforts in North Africa, specialised on both investment banking and private equity activities. Nomad Capital is assisting Mediterrania Capital Partners in deploying its capital and managing its portfolio companies in those countries.

Adel has an MS in international finance and a BA in engineering from Pole Lorrain Nancy (Mines and ICN). He speaks French, English, Arabic, Spanish and Italian.

With almost 20 years of professional experience in the finance industry in Africa, prior to joining Mediterrania Capital Partners, Pacôme Zahabi collaborated with La Tulipe Group, an Africa focused Independent Advisory and Investment Banking Firm strategically positioned to service Buy Side Clients among Private and Corporate Sector Organisations, Institutional Investors, Family Offices, and Governments. Pacôme also worked at the leading Pan-African Insurance and banking conglomerate NSIA as Group Head Investments right after seven years at group level management positions with the United Bank for Africa (UBA).

Pacôme was CFO at the West African Stock Exchange (BRVM – Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières); then worked at the Central Securities Depository and Settlement Bank (DC/BR – Dépositaire Central/Banque de Règlement) as Head Operations and Business Development within the WAEMU regional capital market. Prior to that, he gained financial auditor experience with Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen representation offices in West Africa.

Nowadays, Pacôme handles business development and brand representation of Mediterrania Capital Partners in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Pacôme is a graduate from the business school ESCP-EAP, Paris, France, and holds the post-graduate Specialised Master Audit and Consulting from ESCP-EAP. He speaks English, French and Spanish.

Rajaa Berrkia joined Mediterrania Capital Partners as Analyst in 2009. Two years later, she was promoted to Associate where she handled financial modelling, initial due diligence for investment opportunities and potential add-on acquisitions, as well as assisting with the management and monitoring of portfolio companies, sourcing deals and structuring processes. In 2016, Rajaa became Operations Director, assuming responsibility for operational and financial reporting, oversight of accounting and regulatory compliance and reporting of funds under management and portfolio companies.

In 2020, Rajaa was appointed Director of Sustainability & Risk Officer responsible for defining, coordinating and providing strategic supervision of Mediterrania Capital Partners’ impact investing process and research. Rajaa focuses – alongside deal teams – on the environmental, governance and social performance of Mediterrania Capital Partners’ investments to build companies that are more resilient, more innovative, more environmentally friendly and better able to deliver societal benefits – and that are, ultimately, more valuable to host communities and environments.

Rajaa is a graduate of HEM Business School (Morocco) and holds a Master of Science in Corporate Finance from IAE Lyon 3 (France). Rajaa speaks Arabic, English, French and Spanish.

Prior to joining Mediterrania Capital Partners in July 2012, Mohamed Ali Abdelhak spent four years at Ernst & Young Paris as a Senior Consultant in Transaction Advisory Services where he participated in several Buy-side and Sell-side financial due diligence processes.

As an Investment Director at Mediterrania Capital Partners, he takes part in various investment phases including market research and the risk identification of target companies, the designing of business plans and company valuation, and the preparation of investment memorandums.

Mohamed Ali’s strong track record has been built thanks to his close involvement in two deals in the Maghreb region for Mediterrania Capital I and one deal for Mediterrania Capital II, and his participation in the financial due diligence of six companies within the framework of an M&A operation within his position at Ernst & Young.

Throughout his years at Mediterrania Capital partners, Mohamed Ali has also developed solid asset management skills and a deep understanding of several core sectors in the region.

Mohamed Ali holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from HEC Tunis (Tunisia) and a Master’s in Management from ESCP Europe Paris (France). He speaks English, French and Arabic.

Prior to joining Mediterrania Capital Partners in Mars 2014, Paul-Armand Ngassa spent four years working as an Inspector at Société Générale where he acquired a strong knowledge of the group’s organisation, strategies and methods. Before that, he was an Analyst at Société Générale, Rio Tinto and Afriland First Bank and developed strong analytical and financial skills.

As an Investment Director at Mediterrania Capital Partners, he takes part in various investment phases including market research and the risk identification of target companies, the designing of business plans and company valuation, and the preparation of investment memorandums.

Paul-Armand’s strong track record has been built as a result of his involvement in two deals in the Maghreb region for Mediterrania Capital II. Throughout his experience at Mediterrania Capital Partners, Paul-Armand has also acquired solid asset management skills and a deep understanding of the markets in the region thanks to his involvement in the management of several MC I and MC II partner companies. He also has an extensive knowledge of the West and Central African markets and economic trends.

Paul-Armand holds an MSC degree in Management from ESCP Europe (France) and a Master’s in Management from the Catholic University of Yaounde (Cameroon). He speaks English, French and Bamileke.

Miguel joined Mediterrania Capital Partners in April 2018 as Financial Controller. He is responsible for the overall management of the company including accounting, financial statements, auditing, treasury and budgeting functions. In 2020 Miguel also gained responsibilities over Mediterrania Capital Partners’ operations.

Miguel began his career as a financial auditor with RSM Barcelona, then he joined KPMG. In both firms, he was involved in projects from small-medium sized companies to multi-national companies and listed organisations. Working in the industry and retail audit departments allowed him to develop good analytical skills. Miguel then joined FJVA, one of the most important tax and financial services providers in Malta. He was a member of the accounts department and gained international exposure servicing a portfolio of clients. In FJVA, Miguel was responsible of Mediterrania Capital Partners’ accounts.

Miguel holds a B. Com. (Hons) in Management and Business Administration from the University of Barcelona, specialising in Finance and Audit. He is fluent in English, Catalan and Spanish.

Prior to joining Mediterrania Capital Partners as an Analyst in September 2014, Alexandre Durand worked as a Financial Analyst for Parex USA and a Strategy Consultant for CMI, where he accumulated strong analytical and financial skills.

Alexandre was promoted to Associate within the firm in 2017 and to Senior Associate in 2019. As an Associate at Mediterrania Capital Partners, he took part in various investment phases including market research, the risk identification of target companies, the designing of business plans and company valuation and the preparation of investment memorandums. In 2021, Alexandre was promoted to Investment Director.

Over the years working at Mediterrania Capital Partners, Alexandre has developed very strong monitoring technical capabilities across many portfolio companies. Nowadays he is leading a team of investment professionals in the Barcelona office.

Alexandre holds an Engineering degree from École Centrale Paris (France) and a Master’s in Management and Finance from Melbourne Business School (Australia). He speaks English, French, Spanish and German.

Simon Multer joined Mediterrania Capital Partners as Analyst based in Barcelona in June 2016 and was promoted to Associate & Investor Relations in April 2020. In this role, Simon is involved in all investment process phases, including the financial and sectoral analysis of investment opportunities, the development of business plans and valuation models, the preparation of investment memorandums, participation in due diligence processes and negotiations, as well as portfolio monitoring.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Information Oriented Economics from University of Augsburg (Germany) and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Business Administration from Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (Spain). He is fluent in English, German, French and Spanish.

Before joining Mediterrania Capital Partners as Analyst in September 2016, Sabri Barrois worked as a Private Equity Analyst for Naxicap Partners and a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst for DC Advisory Paris, where he accumulated strong analytical and financial skills. During the first months with Mediterrania Capital Partners, Sabri was based in the Casablanca (Morocco) office and later on he moved to Barcelona (Spain).

As an Analyst at Mediterrania Capital Partners, Sabri is involved in all investment process phases, including the financial and sectoral analysis of investment opportunities, the development of business plans and valuation models, the preparation of investment memorandums, participation in due diligence processes and negotiations, as well as portfolio monitoring.

Sabri completed his Master degree in Corporate Finance from Audencia Business School (France) in 2016. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

In May 2020, Meryem Benmoussa joined the team of Mediterrania Capital Partners as an Analyst. In her role, Meryem is involved in all investment and exit process phases, being responsible for conducting the preliminary analysis of potential investment opportunities in the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan African countries, performing the financial modelling and company valuation in both phases as well as conducting market and sector analysis. Meryem is also supporting the investment team by helping with the monitoring of the company portfolio and preparing the strategic committee meetings.

Before joining Mediterrania Capital Partners, Meryem Benmoussa worked as a Financial Analyst in different Investment Banking departments at Natixis in Paris, including Credit Analysis, Strategic Equity Transactions and Mergers & Acquisitions, and as a Strategy Consultant at BearingPoint in Paris.

Meryem holds an MSc (Master of Science) degree in Corporate Finance from Paris Dauphine University (France). She speaks French, Arabic and English.

Montserrat Petit has 20+ years of marketing experience in multi-national corporations from the IT sector and Private Equity. She started her professional career at Adobe Inc. in Edinburgh (Scotland) in 1997. After 10 years working for Adobe in Scotland, Brazil, USA and England in a number of different roles including Product Marketing, Country and Regional Marketing, and Channel Marketing, she joined Hewlett-Packard in 2007. Based at the worldwide headquarters of HP’s Digital Printing division in Barcelona, Montserrat headed the WW Demand Generation initiative and later on, became the WW lead of Marketing Communications for Large Format Design.

In 2014 Montserrat joined Mediterrania Capital Partners as Head of Marketing & Communications responsible for defining the marketing strategy and implementing the whole range of tools, programmes and activities, both online and offline, to raise brand recognition among investors, shareholders and the private equity industry in general. Montserrat actively collaborates with the Mediterrania Capital’s Partners and Investment Team members to support them along the different fundraising and investment stages. Her role includes the definition and execution of an annual calendar of marketing activities, creation of all the marcom tools, organisation of the firm’s participation at conferences and webinars, leading the press relations and liaising with the design agencies and industry associations, as well as controlling the marketing budget and measuring the ROMI.

Montserrat completed a Digital Marketing Programme from the School of Marketing (London) and a Master Class in Private Equity from London Business School (England). She holds an MBA from University of Barcelona (Spain) and gained Master’s degrees from Bournemouth University (England) and Université de Poitiers (France). She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from University of Barcelona (Spain).

Since 2000, Borja García-Nieto has been the Partner in charge of Private Equity at Grupo Financiero Riva y García, a financial group based in Spain that manages over €160 million of assets and 25 companies at various stages of development.

Prior to Grupo Financiero Riva y García, Borja was an active member of several Investments Committees in a number of Private Equity and Venture Capital funds, and a Board Member and General Manager of the International Department of Brokerage Firms in Madrid.

Borja has an in-depth knowledge of the tech, media and communications sectors with additional sound experience in the financial sector in the region. He actively participates in social and civic institutions and is currently Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Abat Oliba University of Barcelona.

Nowadays, he is the Director of Nacional de Reaseguros, Filmax and various other companies from Riva y García’s PE portfolio, as well as a Partner at Mediterrania Capital Partners and member of the Investment Committee.

Borja is a Law graduate by the University of Barcelona (Spain) and holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Management (MED-MBA) from the IESE Business School (Spain). He speaks Spanish, Catalan, English and French.

Joan Carles Rovira started working at Arthur Andersen in 1986 where he became Manager after five years in a group of industrial companies. He then became Head of the pharmaceutical sector at the Barcelona office in 1993 before getting promoted to Director and then to Partner subsequently.
In parallel, Joan Carles was Professor at the School of Business Administration (ESADE), Barcelona between 1993 and 1998. Between 1998 and 2001, Joan Carlos worked at DERBI Nacional Motor as Chief Financial and Administrative, Human Resources and Technology.

Since 2002, he has been working at Institut Català de Finances Holding, a credit institution with public assets of €5 billion as General Manager and Board member of the Board of Shareholders’ until 2011. At that point he became General Manager of Corporate Business and Venture Capital and secretary of the Governing Board.

Joan Carles has furthermore been an active member and/or the Chairman of several boards of shareholder’s, executive and investment committees in Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds, such as Institut Català de Finances Capital SGECR, Avalis, Arrendadora Ferroviaria, Fira 2000, Capital Expansió FCR and Capital MAB FCR among others.

Joan Carles brings an in-depth knowledge of the financial sector in the region, as well as a significant understanding of industries and a large network of contacts in Europe.

Nowadays he an independent member of the Investment Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners.
Joan Carles holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from UAB, Barcelona (Spain) and attended the Senior Management Program (PADE) of IESE Business School, Madrid (Spain). He speaks Catalan, Spanish and English.
