Albert Alsina has more than 25 years of international experience in multi-national settings where he held several executive positions in General Management at global and European levels in the US, UK, Brazil, Germany, Zimbabwe and Spain. In 2007, Albert joined the financial group Riva y García to lead the fund “Fons Mediterrania Capital” (Mediterrania Capital I). In 2013, he founded Mediterrania Capital Partners Ltd. which today manages two funds: MC I and MC II. Today Albert is a member of the Investment Committee of “Fons Mediterrania Capital” and “Mediterrania Capital II”, and a Board member of several portfolio companies of both funds.

Albert is also a member of AVCA’s Sustainability Committee and Associate Professor at EADA Business School in Barcelona. He currently sits on the Board of Anne Fundació, a centre dedicated to medical and psychological attention to children.

Albert is an AMP graduate from Harvard Business School (USA). He completed the Global Leadership Program from Wharton (USA), and PADE from IESE Business School (Spain); he also holds Master’s degrees from Fulda Fachoschule (Germany) and Université de Poitiers (France); and a Bachelor degree in Business from the University of Barcelona (Spain).

Albert is fluent in English, French, German and Portuguese, as well as in Catalan and Spanish.

Before joining Mediterrania Capital Partners, Saâd Bendidi held several leading positions in various sectors, including Director of the Department of Strategy and Planification of the former Wafabank (1985-1987), Managing Director of Magetex and CIB (1988-1992) and of the Moroccan Fund “Moussahama” (1992-1997). Saâd was also Chairman of Meditelecom (1999 -2005), Vice President of Finance.com (2001- 2005) and Director of Participations and Investments of BMCE Bank (1997-2000). From 2005 to 2008, he was the Chairman of the ONA Group and Administrator of ONA International, SNI, Attijari Wafabank, Managem, Centrale Laitière, Cosumar, Lesieur, Nareva, Optorg, Marjane, Acima, Bimo, Sonasid, Lafarge Maroc, CIMR, AttijariBank, Manatrade and CBAO.

Nowadays, Saâd is Chairman of CNIA Saada (Saham) a leading insurance company in Africa and he holds the position of Non-Executive Chairman of HWM, the exclusive distributor of Haworth, Figueras, Bontempi and SitLand in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

Throughout his 30-year professional experience in various leading positions, Saâd has acquired extensive knowledge of the African economic, political and social landscape. Over the years, he has built a strong network of entrepreneurs and key players in the Maghreb region and Africa, and gained solid investment and managerial expertise in highly competitive markets in many President, Charmain and senior positions at different levels through relevant exposure to a number of industries, in particular telecoms, banking, and insurance. Saâd is currently a member of the Investment Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners, as well as a Board Member of several portfolio companies.

With 18 years of professional experience, Hatim Ben Ahmed started his career as a financial auditor for the accounting firm Arthur Andersen in Paris and later joined Accuracy, a corporate finance advisory firm, where he was exposed to a wide range of financial processes including due diligence and company valuations, principally for large corporations in various industries (retail, IT services, waste management, real estate, transportation, etc.). His assignments have led Hatim to work in most European countries as well as India, the USA, Brazil and Australia. He entered the Private Equity practice in 2008 with Mediterrania Capital Partners and today he sits on the Board of several portfolio companies managed by MC I and MC II. He is also member of the Investment Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners.

Hatim is a GMP graduate from Harvard Business School (USA). He holds a Master of Science from the ESTP Paris (France) and a Bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance (DESCF).

Hatim speaks English, Spanish, French and Arabic.

Daniel Viñas has 27 years of experience in Private Equity asset management and financial services including 6 years at PwC’s audit and transaction services teams, and 15 years as Director of 3i Group plc. Throughout his professional career, Daniel has accumulated asset management experience after sitting on more than 20 Boards from companies in various sectors including general industry, retail, transport and logistics, IT services, chemicals, media, and construction. Throughout his career, Daniel has played an active role in both growth and expansion strategies as well as in company re-organisations and M&A. He joined Mediterrania Capital as a Partner in 2014 and currently sits on the Board of several portfolio companies managed by MC II. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners.

Daniel completed a PDG (Programa de Dirección General) from IESE Business School (Spain) and gained degrees in Economics and Sociology from the University of Barcelona (Spain). He attended the French School of Barcelona.

Khaled Saba is an Investment Banker with 25 years of international executive experience and a wide network in the industry in Egypt, MENA, South Asia and Europe. His professional experience includes a successful track record in business development and operations of large telecom ventures and in executing high profile capital markets and M&A transactions.

In 1997, Khaled joined EFG-Hermes, one of the leading Investment Banks in the MENA region offering banking services to retail and institutional clients, as Head of Research. Later on, from 2002 to 2008 Khaled led Strategy at Orascom Telecom, then the largest mobile telecommunications player in the region, where he has executed several high profile transactions in Iraq, Bangladesh, Italy, Belgium, Egypt and Congo. During his tenure at Orascom Telecom, Khaled has established and headed the Strategic Commercial Group which had the responsibility to oversee all marketing, sales and customer service activities at Orascom Telecom.

In 2009 Khaled joined Beltone Financial, an Egypt-based financial institution specialised in the provision of investment banking services. Khaled, as Head of Investment Banking, and his team completed a large number of capital markets, debt and M&A transactions in real estate, auto industry, chemicals and others, worth EGP c.20 billion. In 2013 he launched EquiCorp Advisors, a boutique investment bank based in Cairo that holds multiple assignments in healthcare, food industries and others.

Khaled is currently supporting Mediterrania Capital Partners since 2016 for MC III as the Senior Country Advisor for Egypt.

Khaled holds an MBA in International Business and Marketing and a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo (Egypt). He speaks Arabic, English and French.

Until recently Adel Si-Bouekaz was Vice President at Carlyle in charge of the Maghreb Region. He previously managed a boutique consulting firm focused on emerging markets that executed the purchase of Telecom Malagasy on behalf of Distacom Ltd, a Hong Kong based telecom operator, as well as other mandates in North Africa, Eastern Europe and South America.

Before that, Adel worked for JP Morgan London, where he was a member of the UK Resident non-domiciled team, with a focus on international-based clients. The team focused on M&A transactions with family-owned companies across various sectors.

Today, Adel is leading Nomad Capital efforts in North Africa, specialised on both investment banking and private equity activities. Nomad Capital is assisting Mediterrania Capital Partners in deploying its capital and managing its portfolio companies in those countries.

Adel has an MS in international finance and a BA in engineering from Pole Lorrain Nancy (Mines and ICN). He speaks French, English, Arabic, Spanish and Italian.

With almost 20 years of professional experience in the finance industry in Africa, prior to joining Mediterrania Capital Partners, Pacôme Zahabi collaborated with La TULIPE Group, an Africa focused Independent Advisory and Investment Banking Firm strategically positioned service Buy Side Clients among Private and Corporate Sector Organisations, Institutional Investors, Family Offices, and Governments. Pacôme also worked at the leading Pan-African Insurance and banking conglomerate NSIA as Group Head Investments right after having spent seven years at UBA Group at Management.

Pacôme was CFO at the West African Stock Exchange (BRVM – Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières); then worked at the Central Securities Depository and Settlement Bank (DC/BR – Dépositaire Central/Banque de Règlement) as Head Operations and Business Development within the WAEMU regional capital market. Prior to that, he gained financial auditor experience with Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen representation offices in West Africa.

Nowadays, Pacôme handles business development and brand representation of Mediterrania Capital Partners in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Pacôme is a graduate from the business school ESLSCA, Paris, France, and holds the post-graduate Specialised Master Audit and Consulting from ESCP-AP from Paris, France. He speaks English, French and Spanish.

In 2009 Rajaa Berrkia joined the Mediterrania Capital Partner team as Analyst and, later on, became Associate. As an Associate, she participated in the various investment cycle phases including market research, the risk identification of target companies, the designing of business plans and company valuation, the preparation of investment memorandums, participation in due diligence processes and negotiations, and portfolio monitoring.

After developing a strong understanding of the how businesses operate at all levels in different sectors and markets in Mediterrania Capital’s focus countries, Rajaa was promoted to Operations Director in late 2016.

Today Rajaa also occupies the function of ESG Officer at Mediterrania Capital Partners in charge of implementing the ESG policy at the fund and portfolio company levels. In that role, Rajaa is in charge of completing Due Diligence processes at entry, establishing action plans to address risks and monitoring progress in their completion as well as ensuring compliance against requirements during the holding period of the portfolio companies.

Rajaa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from HEM Rabat (Morocco) and a Master of Science degree in Corporate Finance from IAE Lyon 3 (France). She speaks English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

Prior to joining Mediterrania Capital Partners in July 2012, Mohamed Ali Abdelhak spent four years at Ernst & Young Paris as a Senior Consultant in Transaction Advisory Services where he participated in several Buy-side and Sell-side financial due diligence processes.

As an Associate at Mediterrania Capital Partners, he takes part in various investment phases including market research and the risk identification of target companies, the designing of business plans and company valuation, and the preparation of investment memorandums.

Mohamed Ali’s strong track record has been built thanks to his close involvement in two deals in the Maghreb region for Mediterrania Capital I and one deal for Mediterrania Capital II, and his participation in the financial due diligence of six companies within the framework of an M&A operation within his position at Ernst & Young.

Throughout his years at Mediterrania Capital partners, Mohamed Ali has also developed solid asset management skills and a deep understanding of several core sectors in the region.

Mohamed Ali holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from HEC Tunis (Tunisia) and a Master’s in Management from ESCP Europe Paris (France). He speaks English, French and Arabic.

As an Associate at Mediterrania Capital Partners, he is involved in several phases of investment including market research and the risk identification of target companies, the designing of business plans and company valuation, the preparation of investment memorandums, participation in due diligences and negotiations, portfolio monitoring and exits.

Oussama’s strong track record has been built thanks to his involvement in four deals in the Maghreb region for Mediterrania Capital I as well as two deals for Mediterrania Capital II. Since 2011 Oussama has been developing solid portfolio monitoring skills and a deep understanding of several markets in the region.

Oussama holds an Engineering degree from ESSTIN Nancy (France) and a Master’s degree in Financial Mathematics from University Henri Poincaré and Ecole des Mines Nancy (France). He speaks English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

Alexandre was promoted to Associate level within the firm in March 2017 and is currently managing two MC II portfolio companies. As an Associate at Mediterrania Capital Partners, he takes part in various investment phases including market research, the risk identification of target companies, the designing of business plans and company valuation, and the preparation of investment memorandums. Alexandre is also supporting the partners in charge of investment opportunities in Egypt for MC III.

Alexandre holds an Engineering degree from École Centrale Paris (France) and a Master’s in Management and Finance from Melbourne Business School (Australia). He speaks English, French, Spanish and German.

Prior to joining Mediterrania Capital Partners in Mars 2014, Paul Armand Ngassa spent four years as an Inspector at Société Générale where he acquired a strong knowledge of the group’s organisation, strategies and methods. Before that, he was an Analyst at Société Générale, Rio Tinto and Afriland First Bank and developed strong analytical and financial skills.

As an Associate at Mediterrania Capital Partners, he takes part in various investment phases including market research and the risk identification of target companies, the designing of business plans and company valuation, and the preparation of investment memorandums.

Paul Armand’s strong track record has been built thanks to his involvement in two deals in the Maghreb region for Mediterrania Capital II. Throughout his experience at Mediterrania Capital Partners, Paul Armand has also acquired solid asset management skills and a deep understanding of the markets in the region thanks to his involvement in the management of several MC I and MC II partner companies.
He also has an extensive knowledge of the West and Central African markets and economic trends.
Paul Armand holds an MSC degree in Management from ESCP Europe (France) and a Master’s in Management from the Catholic University of Yaounde (Cameroon).

Shaban Sidratu Jah Sesay has 17 years of work experience in multinationals in located Europe, Africa and the USA, including a significant tenure with the United Nations. Her professional career started in Freetown (Sierra Leone) working in Finance and Procurement positions, before moving to the USA to work for Citi, and then Barcelona (Spain) where she joined Wilmington Paper Corp as Supply Chain Finance Controller. In 2017 Shabn Sidratu joined the team of Mediterrania Capital Partners as Financial Controller, based in Barcelona.

Shaban Sidratu holds an Honours Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Marketing from Cambridge College International (UK) and a BBA from Newport University (UK). She completed the Value Innovation and Management Development Programme from INSEAD (France) and a PMD from ESADE Business and Law School (Spain). She is also a Pro-bono consultant at “ESADE Alumni Giving Back” since 2015.

Shaban Sidratu is fluent in English, Spanish, Catalan, Creole and pidgins (English-based) as well as in Fulah and Temne.

During the first months with Mediterrania Capital Partners, Sabri was based in the Casablanca (Morocco) office and later on he moved to Barcelona (Spain).

As an Analyst at Mediterrania Capital Partners, Sabri is involved in all investment process phases, including the financial and sectoral analysis of investment opportunities, the development of business plans and valuation models, the preparation of investment memorandums, participation in due diligence processes and negotiations, as well as portfolio monitoring.

Montserrat Petit has 20 years of marketing experience in multi-national corporations from the IT sector and Private Equity. She started her professional career at Adobe Inc. in Edinburgh (Scotland) in 1997. After 10 years working for Adobe in Scotland, Brazil, USA and England in a number of different roles including Product Marketing, Country and Regional Marketing, and Channel Marketing, she joined Hewlett-Packard in 2007. Based at the worldwide headquarters of HP’s Digital Printing division in Barcelona, Montserrat headed the WW Demand Generation initiative and later on, became the WW lead of Marketing Communications for Large Format Design. In 2014 Montserrat moved with her family to Malta and joined Mediterrania Capital Partners as PR & Communications Advisor.

Montserrat completed the Master Class in Private Equity from London Business School (England) and holds an MBA from University of Barcelona (Spain); she gained Master’s degrees from Bournemouth University (England) and Université de Poitiers (France), and a Bachelor degree in Business Studies from University of Barcelona (Spain).

Since 2000, Borja García-Nieto has been the Partner in charge of Private Equity at Grupo Financiero Riva y García, a financial group based in Spain that manages over €160 million of assets and 25 companies at various stages of development.

Prior to Grupo Financiero Riva y García, Borja was an active member of several Investments Committees in a number of Private Equity and Venture Capital funds, and a Board Member and General Manager of the International Department of Brokerage Firms in Madrid.

Borja has an in-depth knowledge of the tech, media and communications sectors with additional sound experience in the financial sector in the region. He actively participates in social and civic institutions and is currently Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Abat Oliba University of Barcelona.

Nowadays, he is the Director of Nacional de Reaseguros, Filmax and various other companies from Riva y García’s PE portfolio, as well as a Partner at Mediterrania Capital Partners and member of the Investment Committee.

Borja is a Law graduate by the University of Barcelona (Spain) and holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Management (MED-MBA) from the IESE Business School (Spain). He speaks Spanish, Catalan, English and French.

Joan Carles Rovira started working at Arthur Andersen in 1986 where he became Manager after five years in a group of industrial companies. He then became Head of the pharmaceutical sector at the Barcelona office in 1993 before getting promoted to Director and then to Partner subsequently.
In parallel, Joan Carles was Professor at the School of Business Administration (ESADE), Barcelona between 1993 and 1998. Between 1998 and 2001, Joan Carlos worked at DERBI Nacional Motor as Chief Financial and Administrative, Human Resources and Technology.
Since 2002, he has been working at Institut Català de Finances Holding, a credit institution with public assets of €5 billion as General Manager and Board member of the Board of Shareholders’ until 2011. At that point he became General Manager of Corporate Business and Venture Capital and secretary of the Governing Board.
Joan Carles has furthermore been an active member and/or the Chairman of several boards of shareholder’s, executive and investment committees in Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds, such as Institut Català de Finances Capital SGECR, Avalis, Arrendadora Ferroviaria, Fira 2000, Capital Expansió FCR and Capital MAB FCR among others.
Joan Carles brings an in-depth knowledge of the financial sector in the region, as well as a significant understanding of industries and a large network of contacts in Europe.
Nowadays he an independent member of the Investment Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners.
Joan Carles holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from UAB, Barcelona (Spain) and attended the Senior Management Program (PADE) of IESE Business School, Madrid (Spain). He speaks Catalan, Spanish and English.

Guido Gamucci started his career at Citicorp where he held several key positions in Corporate and Investment Banking, up to Deputy Country Head Investment Banking and Treasurer. Later on, he spent six years at UBS Capital where he launched the first direct Private Equity investment vehicle of the firm and invested €70 million in middle market LBO/MBO in Italy. Between 1997 and 2006, Guido worked for Permira as the CEO of Italy before becoming the Chairman of Asia from 2005 to 2010 where he expanded the activities of the company to Asia while opening and staffing offices in Tokyo and Hong Kong.
During its work at Permira, Guido has been a member of the Investment Committee for 10 years and a Board member of Permira Holding Ltd from 2001 to 2010. In 2010, Guido retired from Permira and from all board seats in investee companies in order to establish Bincot in 2012, a family holding investing in early stage or start-up situations. He is currently Chairman of the Bincot and he serves in the boards, advising young entrepreneurs.
Guido has extensive experience in the private equity sector, a significant knowledge of global investment firms and a deep experience in the financial sector.
Today he is also an Independent member of the Investment Committee of Mediterrania Capital Partners.
Guido holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rome University La Sapienza (Italy) and an MBA degree from INSEAD, Fontainebleau (France). He speaks Italian, English and French.
